    Karna has a possible opening for a Health Communications Specialist.  This is a "potential opportunity" for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and has experience in the planning and development of public health communication and marketing programs and campaigns. The Health Communications Specialist will contribute to and provide expert consultation and technical expertise to the development and implementation of various communication materials in support of injury prevention. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, writing and editing new content for a variety of media and materials including: fact sheets, blogs, press releases, web pages, digital press kits, and other print materials.

    • Coordinate tasks and strategy for the development of health communication materials
    • Provide consultation and guidance on communication inquiries
    • Ensure the timeliness, consistency, and accuracy of information
    • Communicate daily updates and status of materials to project team 
    • Assist with research, writing, and editing internal and external communications
    • Design and develop communication and promotional materials various audiences
    • Create and manage ongoing campaigns to ensure electronic delivery of communication where possible


    • 2-5 years of related experience is required
    • MPH or related required
    • Advanced MS Office Suite
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and in at team environment
    • Experience in content development for trainings, curriculums, and education materials
    • Experience researching and reviewing topics to assist with developing communication materials
    • Knowledge of injury prevention topics including opioid overdose, motor vehicle safety, and older adult falls preferred
    • Previous CDC experience preferred
