  • Overview

    Karna is seeking a Data Manger who will be responsible for accessing and compiling large volumes of custom and syndicated data from disparate sources. He or she will then have to convert those large volumes of data into concise and precise information to address complex issues and inform key decisions.


    The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of violence prevention and providing recommendations to client organizations for program improvements and successful program implementation.


    *This position is contingent upon contract award*


    • Provide technical advice on data management, data quality issues, data dictionaries, and datasets.
    • Provide SharePoint development and management
    • Manage, code, and clean data 
    • Ensure product quality, accuracy, timeliness by reviewing collected data for completeness, accuracy, and validity.
    • Serve as an expert by providing technical guidance and information to meet requirements
    • Provide insight on difficult data processing problems and techniques and recommend solutions
    • Recognize basic problems in data collection techniques and recommend solutions.
    • Provide technical assistance for multiple project data requests.
    • Provide data for analysis.
    • Develop quality reports and presentations for various stakeholders


    Candidates must meet the following requirements: 

    • 3 - 5 years of experience in database design, management, and implementation. 
    • 3 years of SharePoint experience 
    • Excellent business/system analysis, root-cause problem solving, process mapping, data modeling, and data manipulation skills.
    • Previous experience leading project teams preferred.
    • Experience in vendor management and managing contacts and evaluating technology.
    • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products.
    • Stong oral and written communication skills
    • Master's Degree with a major in Computer Science, Statistics or related field preferred.
    • Outstanding analytical, data manipulation and reporting skills, including ability to quickly identify key needs from various stakeholders (“clients”), translate those needs into required analytical processes, and synthesize and report back results in a clear, actionable manner to inform strategic improvements.
    • Strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritizes, manages, and completes multiple projects.
    • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and foster teamwork.
    • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; ability to focus on priorities, work on multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and to meet deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially the ability to express analytic results and complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing to ensure they inform strategic decision making.
    • Advanced technical skills including a working understanding of CRM and relational database concepts required. 
    • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, Business Objects or related software reporting package required. 
    • Background investigation required.
    • Security Clearance required.
