    Karna is seeking a Social Media Data Analyst that will provide high level expertise in applicable public health disciplines to process, manage, analyze, or interpret scientific data contained within information systems and databases related to public health.


    The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical skills and be capable of breaking down complex issues into simplified problem statements. He or she should also have the ability to lay out objective approaches to identify and compare the merits of competing solutions.


    *This position is contingent upon contract award*


    • Develop computer programs to access application programming interfaces (APIs) and conduct data management and analytic processes.
    • Develop and employ natural language processing algorithms.
    • Create static and interactive maps and other data visualizations.
    • Develop, run, and evaluate statistical and machine learning models.
    • Calculate descriptive statistics, conduct statistical tests of significance, and draft scientific findings.
    • Annotate data through qualitative review.
    • Develop comprehensive statistical and analytic reports of findings.
    • Prepare and disseminate results of research findings to a scientific community.


    • Master's in Public Health or related  
    • One (1) year of applied experience
    • Experience in programming with R and Python software, including use of Python’s Scikit-learn library;
    • Experience in using Geospatial data management techniques
    • Strong knowledge of using various social media applications (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
    • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products.
    • Background investigation required.
    • Security Clearance required.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary and experience with presenting materials to clients or to large groups is desired.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
