  • Overview

    Karna is seeking an experienced Data Manager to conduct organized analytical assessments and evaluations to understand and/or evaluate complex issues to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of client processes for violence prevention programs at CDC.

     

    *This position is contingent upon contract award*

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support with data management, data quality issues, data dictionaries, and datasets. 
    • Manage/merge data from multiple sources, examine data for trends/themes, and generate reports in various formats.
    • Ensure product quality, accuracy, timeliness by reviewing collected data for completeness, accuracy, and validity. 
    • Knowledge of web-based survey development in Survey Gizmo or similar tools such as Qualtrics, REDCap, etc.
    • Serve as an expert by providing technical guidance and information to meet requirements 
    • Experience with data related to violence prevention (i.e., child abuse and neglect, youth violence, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or elder abuse)
    • Provide insight on difficult data processing problems and techniques and recommend solutions 
    • Recognize basic problems in data collection techniques and recommend solutions. 
    • Provide technical assistance for multiple project data requests. 
    • Provide data for analysis. 
    • Develop quality reports and presentations for various stakeholders
    • Direct on-time, quality delivery of work products.

    Qualifications

    • BS degree in quantitative and qualitative disciplines (such as computer science, mathematics, physics, or statistics).

       

    • 3 - 5 years of experience in database design, management, and implementation. 
    • Previous CDC/Public Health experience is preferred. Experience is Violence Prevention is desired.
    • Excellent root-cause problem solving, process mapping, data modeling, and data manipulation skills. 
    • Knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider and resolve issues or problems. 
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. 
    • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products. 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
