  • Overview

    The Graphic Designer will perform a wide range of graphic assignments in support of training and technical assistance (TA) activities related to cross-cutting violence prevention guidance programs, strategies, and approaches at CDC. The designer will develop tools, products, and materials to assist recipients in understanding, adopting and successfully implementing violence prevention strategies and approaches. 


    *This part time position is contingent upon contract award*


    • Designs layouts and produces graphic designs as requested.
    • Prepares illustrations for manuals, pamphlets, handbooks, web-based courses or trainings, videos, interactive tools, webinars and eclearance ready manuscript drafts presentations, and similar types of publications.
    • Develop tools and products such as templates, guidance documents, and tool kits.  
    • Develop material for internet web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects.
    • Monitors social media websites, newspaper media and other media sources for relevant information.
    • Remain up to date on changing trends in the graphic communication and design industry.
    • Writes, rewrites, and/or edits documentation, communication and reference materials used for a variety of purposes.
    • Advises client in the planning and organizing of information, visual presentations or graphic illustrations.
    • Create print or electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and other various techniques.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products.
    • Experience in the use of media relations, Web, multimedia and social media measurement and reporting tools.
    • Print design experience preferred.
    • Experience developing results frameworks, logical/conceptual frameworks, or similar tools for project design
    • Adobe Creative Suite experience required.
    • Experience designing products that are Section 508 compliant, specifically WCAG 2.0.
    • Proficiency with standard industry tools as well as high capacity to learn new tools
    • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
    • Must possess solid organizational and detail-oriented experteise and the ability to handle numerous projects at one time.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in graphic design. 
    • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
