    Karna is seeking a full-time Health Program Coordinator to support The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID)), Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. 


    *this position is contingent upon contract award*


    CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ) activities aim to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by infectious diseases among immigrants, refugees, international travelers, and other mobile populations that cross international borders. DGMQ collaborates with governmental partner agencies to carry out its regulatory authority to prevent the importation of disease into the U.S.


    DGMQ is looking for a skilled Project Manager to support, at the National Targeting Center to assist with managing the inquiries and subsequent actions required to ensure that communicable diseases are not spread by the traveling public. This position requires Bi-level security clearance as access to systems are needed to carry out these activities.


    • Interface with CDC management personnel, CDC contracts staff, and other cognizant CDC and federal partner officials. 
    • Capable of meeting in conference with CDC project managers and stating problems in a form capable of being solved.
    • Assist with coordination for the development of strategic, integrated product and service strategy.
    • Manage, coordinate and triage any public inquiry requests to the appropriate subject matter experts
    • Manage timelines and ensure that SMEs respond in a timely fashion and received clearances necessary.
    • Provide technical assistance and provide answers to any question or issue regarding health education and communication within the Division
    • Provide training and technical assistance to CDC federal partners
    • Develop traveler’s health, quarantine and border health communication material suitable for multiple audiences
    • Provide case management and consultation US at ports of entry
    • Develop training materials and conduct training and for CDC partners
    • Develop and direct strategic approach to information campaigns and strives to improve work processes, products, and services.
    • Meet with client regularly to ensure work meets/exceeds client objectives, to propose initiatives, and to establish priorities.
    • Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and production of all the contractor's support activities.
    • Demonstrate experience for oral and written communications with all levels of management for planning and control of projects.


    • BA/BS required, Master’s degree preferred in Public Health or related field
    • At least seven (7) years’ experience, of which at least five (5) years must be in public health related programs
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and work with a team composed of health communicators, trainers, educators, budget analysts, first responders, clinicians, etc.
    • Cultural competency: have respect ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures
    • Training skills: develop modules and or augment existing trainings
    • Training distant learners
    • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products
    • Advanced oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Background investigation required
    • US Citizenship required
