Overview

We are seeking a full-time Data Analytics Leader to join Karna in its Atlanta, GA office.  The successful candidate will have graduate training, experience in public health-related biostatistics, and progressive project management experience.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidates for this position will have experience across a variety of biostatistical, epidemiological and data science approaches for public health projects, including (but not limited to):

  • Manage large amounts of data, particularly SAS data sets and data residing in SQL Server Applications
  • Management of statistical and survey projects, including budget development, staffing, and analysis and reporting
  • Statistical and mathematical modeling in public health studies and environmental health science projects
  • Research in statistical sampling, logistic regression analysis, sensitivity and specificity analysis, and non-linear models
  • Design and analysis of complex epidemiological data from prospective and retrospective studies
  • Design and analysis of health-outcomes surveys with clustered samples, survey weights, and/or repeated measures over time – including design and analytical strategies for minimizing the effects of attrition and mobility in longitudinal epidemiological studies.
  • Support and lead preparation of technically accurate, concise reports, presenting results to partners and clients
  • Support and lead preparation and submission of publishable manuscripts
  • Assist with preparation of proposals, including technical sections
  • Support business development efforts, including strategic planning and monitoring of current and future business opportunities
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff
  • Project Management responsibilities, including maintaining schedule and quality of deliverables, management of contributing technical staff, monitoring project fiscal resources, and being the main point of contact for clients
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate the following minimum requirements in order to be forwarded for consideration:

  • Master’s degree or higher in biostatistics, statistics, or data science
  • 8-10 years’ work experience in applied public health or healthcare analytics, with demonstrated experience in being the lead scientist in providing statistical design and analysis methods for challenging research problems
  • 3-5 years’ progressive experience in managing project budgets, schedules, resources, subcontracts and staff
  • Advanced data management and statistical analysis skills, with proven experience in SAS, R and SQL.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret public health and related data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and meet multiple tight deadlines
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products
  • Location: Atlanta Metro area preferred, other locations may be considered

Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.  A minimal amount of domestic travel is anticipated. A full benefits package will be provided.
